CASE STUDY: MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS UNITE!
The Challenge
Mental Health Providers Unite, MHPU, is a new organization in Portland created in response to the 2016 Presidential election. They organize to take direct action at the intersections of mental health and injustice to challenge systems of oppression. They also offer support groups and action trainings. MHPU needed branding to look professional, help raise awareness of the issues they support, and spread the word about their support.
The Solution
MHPU wanted to illustrate the idea of blending the brain and the heart into their logo. They sent me a drawing to get started. I scanned it, traced it, and cleaned up the lines. I added font choices and we continued altering the logo until it was perfect. The final logo is easy to understand. Then I added color to make an eye-catching social media graphics. The whole team at MHPU seems happy with the results; read their testimonial below!
Ethan was extremely generous with his time and skill. As a grassroots and newly forming organization we had a lot of questions about branding and group identity. Ethan was flexible, patient, and creative in his approach to working with us and our budget. His communication was clear and direct which made the process and turn around time super efficient too. Our memebers were impressed with his ability to use our ideas and create designs for various platforms including social media and large scale banners.
