CASE STUDY: PDX STARTUP WEEKEND

The Challenge

The organizers of PDX Startup Weekend needed to promote their event. It was important to create a welcoming feeling, yet also show that Startup Weekend is an experienced platform to bring entrepreneurs together. Business people, designers, and developers all pitched their startup ideas, voted, and then worked together on the winning ideas to completely launch a startup during a weekend.

The Solution

For the Portland version of Startup Weekend, I added iconic imagery to the generic Startup Weekend logo. From Mount Hood, to hipster glasses, to the skyline complete with bridges, I created a brand that encompassed the feeling of a true Portland event that is welcoming to new people, but also people who are ready to get down to business and launch a startup.

The Portland Startup Weekend team is very thankful to Ethan Parker for our beautiful logo, print media, and tshirt design. He graciously donated is time, aesthetic eye, and creative genius to make the #PDXSW vision a reality.
